Tigerwood Hardwood Lumber
All lumber prices shown are per board foot, unless otherwise noted.
Color:
The heartwood is a nice medium reddish brown with dark brown or black streaking. Tigerwood darkens with age.
Grain:
Tigerwood typically has a wavy or interlocked grain.
Workability:
Generally not too difficult to work, despite its high density. Figured pieces with irregular grain can pose a challenge in planing and machining operations. Goncalo Alves can also have a moderate blunting effect on cutters. The wood is very resistant to moisture absorption, which can make it difficult to glue. Turns and finishes well.
Physical Properties:
Tigerwood is a very hard, strong, and durable wood that is excellent for indoor and outdoor projects.
