Cherry Hardwood Lumber

Color:  

Heartwood varies from rich red to reddish brown and will darken with age and more exposure to light. Sapwood is creamy white. May naturally contain small gum pockets and brown pith flecks.

Grain:

Fine uniform, straight grain, satiny smooth texture

Workability:  

Easy to machine, nails well, glues well and sands to an excellent smooth finish. Staining can be blotchy but can be resolved by using a sanding sealer prior to staining or a gel-based stain.

Physical Properties:  

Medium density with good bending properties, low stiffness, medium strength and shock resistance.
