Olivewood, sourced mainly from regions in Italy and northern Africa, is a petite and intricately contoured tree. When fashioned into live edge slabs, these showcase the distinct silhouette of each tree. The slabs can range from expansive dimensions of up to 20 inches at one end to as modest as 5 or 6 inches at either end, or even in the middle.

The wood displays a diverse spectrum of colors, spanning from subdued creamy tones reminiscent of birch to vibrant variations with striking black streaks on exceptionally captivating boards. With a robust Janka rating exceeding 2500, Olivewood boasts notable density, enhanced by the infusion of "olive oil" within the wood. This infusion contributes significantly to its density and serves as a primary reason for its widespread application in crafting charcuterie boards. However, the wood's distinctive pieces also find utility in crafting knife scales, benefitting from the natural oils that extend their longevity.
